Individual therapy
PLEASE NOTE: I am currently providing psychotherapy, supervision, and consultation using videoconferencing.
My practice involves creativity and collaboration within a therapeutic frame. I help people who have faced challenges including depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, HIV, family conflict, abuse, early disappointments, and bereavement. Talking to someone who listens with care and empathy can provide relief from the pervasive effects of trauma and loss and facilitate healthy adjustment and growth.
Generally, the focused nature of our work will require weekly meetings. Sometimes people choose to come more often, to enhance their experience and to move more quickly through the process. We can discuss frequency of visits and length of treatment together.
I enjoy helping people increase their self-understanding and deepen their insight into the conflicts underlying their presenting struggles. It is my hope that we can work together to help you feel better and know yourself in a rich and meaningful way.
Couple and family therapy
I help couples and families as well, using a strengths-based, family systems approach. Typical areas of focus are gender transition, communication, depression and anxiety.
Letters of support
Referral letters are available for people who need gender affirming procedures including surgery. My process is based on informed consent and adheres to guidelines set forth by the WPATH Standards of Care.
